Toshiba presents newly developed OLED lighting fixtures to disaster areas in Japan

[High-tech LED News] Japanese factory Toshiba has announced that it has developed portable organic EL lighting fixtures for disaster areas. Toshiba specifically emphasizes that the lighting fixtures are completely self-made OLED panels, in addition to the use of four 7-cell alkaline dry batteries. Use the included solar rechargeable battery via the USB port.

According to Toshiba, the brightness of the lighting fixture can be divided into three stages of 100%, 30% and 10% dimming. At 100%, it is 53 lm. The brightness is equivalent to that of the desk lamp. The brightness at 10% is equivalent to that of the mobile phone. The size is 146 mm × 100 mm × (maximum thickness) 18.5 mm, and the weight does not contain alkaline dry battery is 180 g.

Toshiba pointed out that if an alkaline dry battery is used, the brightness is 100% for 2 hours, the brightness is 30% for 10 hours, and the brightness for 10% is 20 hours. When the solar rechargeable battery is fully charged, the lighting time of each stage is 3 to 4 times longer than that of the alkaline dry battery.

According to Toshiba, the company plans to manufacture 100 such lighting fixtures, and has now presented 50 sets of lamps that use solar rechargeable batteries in a shelter at Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture. It is not currently intended to be sold to ordinary users.
