Adidas will start a robot factory in the United States in 2017

Last year, Adidas announced that in 2016 they would transfer part of the shoemaking factory back to Germany and prepare to start the robot factory Speedfactory at its base camp. In addition, it also plans to build a new Speedfactory in the United States in 2017. Today, this world-famous sports brand giant shared with us more details of this project - it will build an independent Speedfactory in Atlanta. By the end of next year, Adidas is interested in making 50,000 pairs of running shoes in this 74,000-square-foot space.

Of course, this is just a drop in the ocean compared with the record of 301 million shoes that were made last year. But this is another beginning. Speedfactory aims to use an automated production line to achieve rapid production of footwear. More importantly, Speedfactory has allowed Adidas to reduce its reliance on Asia's production bases, and some of them have long been under the supervision of illegal labor issues. According to reports, Adidas also said: This is a U.S. localization project with unlimited opportunities.

According to Adidas, Speedfactory can provide 160 jobs for the Atlanta area, although they did not disclose specific types of jobs and details. It is worth noting that for Adidas, it is not easy to look after a good robot.
