Due to lack of construction funds, Cameroon Energy Investment Company will arrange Cameroon Ecobank Group to invest 600 billion Fem to ensure that the power plants generate electricity on schedule. The investment will be repaid through international institutions' medium-term loans in the next 5 to 11 months.
Delayed original power supply plan for Cameroon Kribi gas station
Kribi Power Development Corporation is part of AES and its original intention was to produce, transport, develop, import electricity and expand energy production. At present, the company is building a Kribi gas power plant with a design capacity of 216 megawatts and a total investment of 170 billion hectares. For a number of reasons, the original plan for the power plant to start supplying electricity in 2011 will postpone supply until June 2012.
