AMD's three new AMD Radeon Pro WX series workstation graphics cards announced at the SIGGRAPH graphics conference in late July will ship this month. The Radeon Pro WX 4100 retails for $400, the mid-range WX 5100 for $500, and the top-of-the-line WX 7100 for $800. All three graphics cards are based on AMD's Polaris architecture and 14nm FinFET process, which manufacturers claim can achieve superior performance in a lightweight, power-saving state. The Radeon Pro WX 4100 is built for computer-aided design professionals and will ship on November 10. AMD calls the Radeon Pro WX 4100 "the fastest half-height workstation-class GPU." Based on the Polaris 11 chip, the card has a full 1024 stream processor and single-precision computing performance exceeding 2 T-Flops. The card is also equipped with 4GB @ 128-bit GDDR5 memory, supporting four 4K displays via four mini-DisplayPort interfaces. AMD will also complete the shipment of the $500 Radeon Pro WX 5100 graphics card on November 18. The Radeon Pro WX 5100 features a powerful "75W workstation-class graphics card" with a Polaris 10 GPU, 1792 stream processors (SPs) and 28 compute units (CUs) with 3.9 T-Flops. The card is a single-slot, full-height design with 8GB @ 256-bit GDDR5 memory and four standard large DP interfaces (instead of mini-DP). The high-end chip Radeon Pro WX 7100 will ship on November 10 for $800. Called the "fastest single-slot workstation-class graphics card," the card is designed to meet the needs of professional VR content producers. The Radeon Pro WX 7100 features a Polaris 10 GPU with 2,304 stream processors and 36 compute units, complemented by 8GB @ 256-bit GDDR5 memory and 5.7 T-Flops.
