Recently, the first 220kV intelligent substation in China—the intelligent transformation project of the Qingdao 220kV Noonshan Transformer Substation was approved by the State Grid Corporation of Experts Group and put into operation, marking a promising step in Qingdao’s smart grid construction.

The person in charge of the Qingdao Power Supply Company told the reporter that as an Olympic supporting project, the 220 kV Noyama Transformer Substation is a digital substation that was put into operation in 2008 and was included in the first batch of substations' intelligent transformation pilot projects by the State Grid Corporation of China. Starting from the end of June this year, Qingdao Power Supply Company formally started to carry out intelligent transformation. During the transformation process, reliable, advanced and environmentally-friendly intelligent equipment and the latest automation technology were adopted, enabling the substation to have digital information of the entire station and communication platform network. The functions of standardization, information sharing standardization, function application standardization, etc., are in full compliance with the relevant technical standards and technical program requirements for the transformation of the substations of the State Grid Corporation of China.
