OLED TVs are concerned by major domestic TV companies this year and have launched new products one after another. However, LCD TVs are still the main force on the market. Although LG is pushing OLEDs, it is not enthusiastic for other TV giants such as Samsung and Sony.

At one time, the Samsung TV makers Samsung, LG, Sony, and Panasonic all released their own OLED TV products at CES2013. However, only one LG family persisted. Samsung turned to QLEDs (quantum dots). Sony and Panasonic released their respective announcements. After the world’s first 4K OLED prototype was released, the OLED technology cooperation agreement was lifted.

In the middle of last year, LG continued the large-scale panel production, and later the industry chain (German Merck, the main supplier of OLED panel materials) disclosed that Samsung will also restart in 2017.

For this argument, Park Dong-Gun, vice president of Samsung's display division, clearly denied today that Samsung will not mass production of OLED TVs in 2017.

For a long time, OLEDs have always been difficult to meet expectations because of the problems of low cost, low yield, and short life. Currently, only LG is struggling.

Last year's IFA, Panasonic first introduced a 65-inch curved OLED, but then there is no news, it seems to be still fluctuating.

From the perspective of the current development of OLED screens, it is currently more suitable for small-size applications of smart phones, and it is still somewhat difficult to push large-screen OLED TV products.
