Ultra-thin glass with a minimum thickness of 25 microns, which is thinner than human hair. When the thickness is less than 150 microns, the glass is confirmed to be bendable and stable. Due to its dimensional flexibility, the glass can be rolled into a roll. Compared to other sheets, such as plastic, metal, or silicon, ultra-thin glass has a number of outstanding advantages, including excellent optical properties, mechanical resistance, chemical consistency, and temperature stability.

In contrast, one of the key issues in OLED technology is that it is susceptible to environmental influences and must be packaged with the highest precision to isolate oxygen and moisture. According to UBI Research 2017 OLED packaging annual report, about 70% of OLED panels will use thin film encapsulation technology (TFE) in 2021. TFE technology temporarily does not achieve 100% protection for OLEDs, and often requires an additional layer of protection. Blocking OCA optical transparent tape is suitable for this.

We have developed lateral seals and optically clear adhesive tapes that do not interact with sensitive OLED materials. The ultra-thin glass laminates the special adhesive layer and delivers it to the user. While ensuring that the components are sealed by the surface glass, the lateral diffusion of gas and liquid (x/y direction blocking) is completely prevented. The combination of the two materials provides comprehensive protection with functional x/y/z directional barriers.

We also offer other integrated tape solutions, including flexible AMOLED backplane mounting, touch sensor bonding and more. The use of these display tapes can also be extended to the demanding automotive industry, specifically addressing the functional requirements of tapes for entertainment systems such as displays and driver assistance systems such as cameras, Sensors, and antennas.
